NHL also announces Shawn Thornton's hearing will be in person. Allows NHL option of suspending 6 or more games. Date/time of hearing TBD.
NHL announces James Neal will have telephone hearing for kneeing Brad Marchand in head. Any suspension to him will be 5 games or less.

Guess is Thornton and Neal will both get suspended. Thornton somewhere between 6 and double digits; Neal's # may hinge on Marchand's status.

So, it's pretty obvious where all this is headed. Six or more game suspension for Thornton, possible hearing for Neal. Twitter on fire.
4. Thornton will have no defence for taking down Orpik and even less for punching him while he was down and not prepared to defend himself.
3. Neal on Marchand may or may not have been sneaky dirty or accidentally on purpose but that's for NHL Player Safety to determine.
